In the last 18 months of disruption, digital transformation has accelerated like never before. As a result, customer expectations and behaviours have changed dramatically, with many more now wanting one seamless customer experience. Staff costs, money, and competition from quick-service restaurants are some of those pain points. From fuels and POS to loyalty platforms, c-stores are faced with a unique set of variables. Retailers should embrace technology and make sure multiple digital platforms work well together, whilst combatting the roadblocks of bringing together disparate systems. The challenges aren’t exclusive to tools and processes because as, acquiring, onboarding, and retaining talent is an issue that is difficult for any company in any industry, having the right people is also fundamental.
